Ever since graduating from high school Tia knew that she wanted to be a High School Counselor. She graduated from UO and then received her Masters in Counseling from OSU. Tia did attend Sheldon High School her freshman year and remembers kissing the rock.

Tia's approach is to find out what the student's concern is, brainstorm ideas for a solution, make sure the student is clear on what their responsibility is in solving the problem, and assisting the student as appropriate. She sees herself as a resource for students and a starting point on how to solve a problem. She sees the potential in students and has patience if "Plan A" didn't work to try "Plan B' and so on!

Tia's favorite quotes:

Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things."
There are no mistakes in life, only lessons."
"Learn, love, live and laugh!"
