“I help my teacher with computer stuff in class… Can I help?”
Maybe. If you know your way around a computer, and have a free period, drop a résumé off in the tech office in D-5 (right next to the cafeteria).
Here’s the process from there: If you have skills to help out, and your schedule fits, we’ll have you come in for an interview. If the interview goes well, you can come in and “job shadow” for a week or so. That way we get a feel for your skills, and you get a good idea of what goes on here. After all that, we’ll put you on the schedule, and you can even get credit for helping out!
We treat this like a job application process because essentially it is. We need to make sure everyone gets along, and so we can best serve the school. This isn’t an opportunity to “hang out and play games all day.” But it is an opportunity to gain skills in Customer Service, Technical Support, Computer Operation, Web Design, Audio/Video Hookups, or anything about technology!
