Program Description:

TEN, located at Sheldon High School and Fountain Villa Apartments, is a creative program that provides individualized instruction and opportunities to students with cognitive disabilities who have educational needs that include a high level of staff support and a focus on functional skills. The program is a national model and maximizes students’ potential in educational, social, vocational, recreational, and community living skills areas. TEN has classrooms at Sheldon High School, a number of local businesses, and an apartment complex so that students may learn vocational and community living skills. Please contact TEN for enrollment information.

School Highlights:

  • TEN has been providing specially designed instruction to students with individual needs in Eugene since 1984.
  • Courses at the high school level may include: Functional Academics, Community Living Skills, Healthy Teens, Vocational Skills, Fitness/Recreation, and other Sheldon High School classes.
  • TEN at the Community Living Program (CLP) builds on the skills learned in the high school program, and adds aspects of community living skills and vocational experiences.
  • Our staff consists of teachers, educational assistants, and job coaches. We also work with school psychologists, special education consultants, speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, autism consultants, and other support specialists.
