Good Morning, Irish!
- Hey Juniors and Seniors! Do you have a free 4th Period or 7th Period? Would you like to have a class to give you some extra credit and also some great office experience for your resumé? We are looking for TWO awesome students to join us in the Front Office as TAs for Semester 1. If you are interested, please see Cristal or Kristen in the front office as SOON as possible! The deadline to add a class is fast approaching and we would love to give the opportunity to some deserving students! Again, you must be a Junior or Senior and you must have a free 4th or 7th.
- Name change requests for the yearbook must be made by Dec 1st. The form can be found in the yearbook section under the student tab on the Sheldon website. Seniors, Dec 1st is also the deadline for submitting your senior portrait. If you do not submit a portrait, your Lifetouch portrait will be used instead. Senior baby ads are also for sale and the deadline is Oct 31st. Let your family know. All relevant information can be found on the Sheldon website.

- Sheldon Theatre’s Fall Play: The Best Bloody Baking Show, has an opening for a lead role: Patricia Posh. Patricia is one of two judges for the baking show. She is an elegant and glamorous British lady in her 50s. She has an exceptionally refined palette and aesthetic sensibility, yet she doesn’t mind a drink and a giggle now and then either. She is beloved by her fans who call themselves “The Patty Wagon.” Reach out to Mr. Cabrera for more information. Auditions will be held Friday the 19th.
- Sheldon Improv Club Meets today at lunch in the Little Theater. Come on by and say, "Yes, and…" with us!
- Sheldon’s Women in STEM Club is back! Come for snacks, a fun activity, and a chance to meet awesome people who love science, tech, engineering, and math. Everyone’s welcome so grab a friend and stop by tomorrow in room B5 during Lunch.
- Do you need leadership experience or community service hours, or want to serve your community and the world? Come to Interact Club in classroom B14 this Thursday, September 18 to plan this year's project!
- September is Deaf Awareness Month. Additionally Sept 22nd - Sept 29th is International Week of Deaf People (IWDP), and Sept 23rd is International Day of Sign Languages. We Recommend the book Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law by Haben Girma, as well as learning sign language from Deaf creators on social media, and checking out the variety of different types of sign language that align with different cultures and identities. This includes LSM for Mexican Sign Language, BASL for Black American Sign Language (with a deep cultural history behind the development of this sign language), Japanese Sign Language, Taiwanese Sign Language, and many more. There are approximately as many sign languages as there are spoken languages and cultures.
- Thanks for following our school expectations or ROSE - to be Respectful to Others, ourSelves and our Environment.
***Additional Announcements:
- Cell Phone Policy Reminder - We appreciate how well our students are adhering to the school policy of keeping cell phones turned off and away during class time. Thank you for respecting the learning environment and systems teachers have in place to keep us focused on instruction and collaboration. Your cooperation makes a positive difference every day! Class time is a focused space for learning. To support that:
- Cell phones and personal electronic devices must be turned off and put away during instructional time.
- This applies everywhere in the building during class periods— classrooms, hallways, and restrooms are included in this (even if you have a free period during that time)
- Phones may only be used before school, after school, during passing periods, morning break, and at lunch.
Remember: this isn’t just about rules — it’s about creating a strong, respectful learning environment where everyone can focus and succeed. Thank you for doing your part!
