As the school year is set to begin here are some important dates that are coming soon:
August 26 2:30 - 5:30 - Sheldon Welcome Back Irish
Welcome Back Irish Day will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 2:30–5:30 PM to kick off the new school year and connect students and families with resources, activities, and community partners. Families will be welcomed by administrators, enjoy carnival games in the courtyard, and take guided campus tours.
Dozens of booths will be available, including Sheldon Athletics, counseling, the food pantry, clothing closet, technology checkout and support, and affinity group displays. Community partners such as Boosters, Insight NW, DevNW, 15th Night, PeaceHealth, Northwest Youth Corps, and more will share resources and information.
Students can check out devices, learn how to access Canvas and ParentVUE, and connect with programs such as ACT/SPT, CALCI, and Sheldon CTE.
This event is designed to ensure students and families are informed, equipped, and excited for the year ahead, while strengthening connections between Sheldon High School and the broader community.
September 3 - 1st day of school for 9th Graders (8:30 - 2:30)
On Wednesday, September 3rd, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Sheldon High School will roll out the green carpet for our newest Irish! This special day is all about helping 9th graders feel at home, make connections, and start the year with confidence.
Students will explore the school’s layout through guided activities, meet their teachers, and attend their first classes to get a feel for the rhythm of high school life. They’ll participate in engaging activities designed to connect them with Sheldon’s proud traditions, spirited culture, and supportive community.
From learning where everything is, to shaking hands with future mentors, to sharing laughs with new friends, this first day sets the tone for an exciting four years ahead. By the end of the day, every student will know—they’re not just starting high school, they’re becoming part of the Irish family.
September 4 - 1st Day of school for the All Students (8:30 - 3:30)
On Thursday, September 4th, Sheldon High School kicks off the school year with a day focused on connection, learning, and setting the tone for success. We’ll begin with a whole-school assembly to welcome everyone back, celebrate our Irish pride, and highlight the values that make Sheldon special.
Students will follow their A Day schedule (Periods 1–4), where they’ll meet their teachers, get to know classmates, and learn the expectations for both their classes and the school as a whole. This is an important day to be at school; teachers will share essential information, outline routines, and help students start building the relationships that lead to a successful year.
We are so excited to welcome our students and families back for another amazing year at Sheldon. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for your senior lap, these first days are your opportunity to connect, prepare, and set the stage for success.
Go Irish!
